Engaged!

Anyone who knows me well, knows my firm belief about the sanction of marriage. A hetero-privileged right that seemingly incorporates itself into the privacy of our bodies and bedroom sheets. How it ultimately conforms and directs people's lifestyles, while completely neglecting an entire group of people...How it's the first stage of feeding into the "nuclear family" cycle that is embedded in our sub-conscious minds and daily routine...How it pushes basic family moral values and "the right way of living"...How it continues the ever-overwhelming economic plunge of capitalism....How it blahblahblahblah...

BUT, when there are two adorably, amazing, fantastic, people that were fortunate enough to cross paths in this lifetime...two people that fit so perfectly wrapped into one another's personality and well-being...two people's energies that ignite into one fleeting entity...THEN, I think it's a wonderful idea to tie the knot.

And the two people I'm describing are my beautiful, big sister, Alexis and my future brother-in-law Angel! He proposed to her this weekend in Duluth and they make me believe that I can find happiness with another person. They're so fricken cute it's almost sick. And now we get to celebrate the new chapter they are going to start together in their lives. I'm so thrilled for them and my sister truly deserves all the bubbly effervescence that she is currently feeling right now!

Congrats you two!!!
