Baked!

Because it's labor day, a lot of public transportation was delayed or slower...but I HAD to make the trek to find the cutest little bakery in Red Hook, Brooklyn: Baked! Mere saw this place on Food Network and it was so fun to journey on multiple bus routes to get there. Once I did, it was SO worth it! If the definition of "cute" needed a physical location, it would most definitely be Baked. It was so darling, neighborhoody, and friendly. It took me almost twenty minutes to decide what to order, but I settled with the Red Hook Red Velvet and the Sweet and Spicy (dark chocolate bliss) cupcakes. I called Mere and it was really sweet to surprise her by telling her where I was...it meant a lot to her and it made me miss her terribly. She would've loved to indulge in one of these homemade, original, cupcakes or cloud cookies, over a cup of coffee and chat about a week's worth of work and living. The menu is amazzzing and I wish I could've tried a sample of everything. I could already picture my life here, coming every Sunday morning with my computer and writing a few pages of my screenplay, and trying a different dessert until I've has a sensory experience with each one. It looks like something out of Harry Potter and if I'm ever in NY again, this will become one of my local favorites.
