Paparazzo

Pictured above is the talented and adorable Mark Indelicato who plays Betty's nephew, Justin. Throughout the week people have been telling me that I look like the 5 year's older version of him. I usually responded with a thank you, or a smile, or a whole-hearted shrug...but it didn't dawn on me the severe reality of our uncanny resemblance until today...

Let me set the scene: I was bringing some paperwork to the production office whilst the production team was shooting on location today. As I was walking, hoarding a double stack of important documents, while simultaneously smashing a veggie fecacia sandwich in my face, I hear, "Click! Click! Click!" Stunned, I wipe a smudge of veganaise from my lower lip (Iamnasty.com) just in time to see a wall of paparazzi photographers shouting, "Mark! Mark Indelicato, look this way!!!" They actually thought I was him! As I stepped closer, they figured out all the evidence written in my PA headset and sandwich. I could've been on Page Six, shucks!

Looking back on the experience, it would have been a real joy to have tricked them by wearing obscenely large aviators, or flashing a peace sign. Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking quickly at the time. But as I reflect on this [almost] 15 minutes of fame moment, I realized how ridiculous the idea of Celebritism and taking pictures really is. It definitely is a breach of privacy and kind of glorifies a lifestyle, or group of people, that shouldn't neccesarily get us much of a fixation, as the general public has created it to become. This isn't to say I don't like to document every single thing I experience, because I DO! And I definitely wouldn't *try* and get caught with my coinslot exposed on hotel rooftops while I binge eat cheetos and smoke marloboro reds...BUT, if someone wanted to do that in confidence, it should totally be respected. And after you get over the celebrity factor, people are just people. Everyone is working together to create something spectacular.

But that's not to say that I can't deny the true star power Lindsay Lohan carries...even I have been wanting to snap a quick photo with her since I've been here. And I fully intend to make it my mission to get by the time the week is up! Speaking of the "rumors" red head, I found photos of today's shoot on ohnotheydidnt.com! It's so strange having been an avid visitor of this rag mag website, and how small-world moment it feels to see pictures of an episode that I'm helping with. Very cool!
