Musical Geniuses

These are just a number of the artists that continue to spin on my ihome. They inspire me with their sounds, words, bangs, pots, bings, zips, zaps, twinks, twerks, and twinges.

Rainbow Families

No matter how long you are gone, it's always the best feeling to come home and be around the people that make you the happiest. That lies within my bestest friend, Mere. And I was SO bummed that I had to miss all the Pride festivities in Loring Park this past weekend, but Mere went as an advocate and got me a really thoughtful gift.

Writer's Office

What an AMAZING experience. I just got back from the writer's office and it was SO cool to meet people that I want to be one day. And especially on the (once) set of my favorite TV show! This trip was so worth it! Now that the butterflies have dwindled out of my stomach, I can relax and Mom and I are going to go explore some more...

The Promonade

Alas! We thought our car was stolen which made us instantly dislike Hollywood, until we realized that we were parked one block over, and went back to loving the weather and the vibe here. We stumbled into a small Greek cafe and were told to drive up the coast 12 miles to the Promonade, so we did! And boy was it a great idea...it felt like a beach town again, like San Diego, only it was more happening. We found a cheap little dive right by the ocean and shopped and had some delicious dinner at a thai restaurant called The Budda's Belly. I'm SO excited for tomorrow morning I can hardly sleep a wink!

Beverly Hills & Hollywood

Mom and I JUST arrived in Beverly Hills and what a day we've had! We spent the afternoon sight seeing...we couldn't really buy anything because designer store after huge label store after haute couture store...well, you get the picture. We watched a drunk guy get handcuffed at 2 in the afternoon and we looked at each other and thought, "Is this really ALL there is to do here?!" I guess you always here about Hollywood as this iconic star-studded, street infested, place. When in reality, it's all spaced out and smaller than I imagined. But it's always fun to be in a new environment and Mom and I are making the most of our time. We dined at this adorable little french bakery called Le Pain Quotidien ("The Daily Bread") and walked around a lot. It's so nice to finally be here though and have Mom-Jake time...
